Latta’s Lady Vikings fell to Hemingway on Tuesday as the Tigers picked up a 45-32 win at home.
Latta’s Tianna Deberry scored a game-high 15 points to lead the Vikings in the loss. Takeria Legette added nine points, with Jessica Evans and Maya Wright each adding three and Brittany Burgess earning two.
Hemingway was led by Deja Woodberry, Keondra Snow, and Shanta Dlow with eight points each. Kaniya Burgess contributed seven points in the win, with Diamond McFadden earning five. Jasmine Pressley, Diamond Scott, and Kelsey Washington each scored two, and Iresha Cooper added three.
Hemingway improves to 4-1 overall and picks up it’s first win in Region 8-A. Latta falls to 0-5 as the Lady Vikings continue to pursue their first win.
The Lady Vikings will break for the holidays, but return to action on Tuesday, January 3, when they’ll host Dillon’s undefeated Lady Wildcats in a non-league match beginning at 6:00 p.m. They’ll follow up by facing county rival Lake View on Friday, January 6, at 6:00 p.m. Make plans to attend to support our local teams!
