The Dillon County Ministerial Alliance (DCMA) held a special Thanksgiving service thanking God for His blessings on Dillon County on Sunday, Nov. 20, at 6:00 p.m., at the City of Dillon Wellness Center.
The Dillon County Ministerial Alliance (DCMA) recognized three of our many ministries in Dillon County: Crisis Pregnancy Center, Free Medical Clinic, and Helping Hands Ministries.
These ministries provide for an opportunity for citizens of Dillon County to receive help that was not available a few years ago.
A special offering for the Carolina Crisis Pregnancy Center was taken during the service and canned goods and other articles were brought by the citizens to help the other ministries.
Jackie Townsend had the prelude. The Community Choir sang “Come Into His Presence” as the opening chorus followed by Prayer by David Owens, Beulah Baptist Church.
Haywood Proctor, Kemper Baptist Church, welcomed everyone to the service followed by a congregational song, “We Gather Together”, under the direction of Jon Whisnand, First Baptist Church.
Dr/ John Bumgardner, First Presbyterian Church, had Responsive Reading of Psalm 100.
Rev. Lee Phillips, Latta Methodist, had a Prayer of Thanksgiving followed by “America” performed by the Community Choir.
Rev. James Smith, East Dillon Baptist, recognized retired ministers and special recognition was given to Rev. D.E. Frye for his 58 tireless years of service to the Lord.
His daughter, Rhonda, spoke on behalf of her father, Rev. Frye.
Rev. Rick Rogers, Open Door Community, gave an inspiring sermon that was followed by “Worthy Is The Lamb”, a congregational song under the direction of Jon Whisnand, Dillon First Baptist.
The offering prayer was by Dr. Greg Hyler, Mount Calvary Baptist followed by the benediction by Rev. Mike Rouse, Main Street Methodist.
