Lake View celebrated their homecoming in style with a 37-8 win over Creek Bridge on Friday.
Ken Turner, Shaquille Foxworth, and Chris Ford led the Wild Gators with two touchdowns each in the win.
Turner got the Gators off on the right foot in the first quarter when he scored a touchdown run with 6:59 remaining. The kick failed but left Lake View ahead 6-0 at the end of the first.
The second saw Lake View’s lead grow by three touchdowns as Foxworth started the scoring on a 14-yard pass from Chris Ford. Ford followed up with the two-point conversion run to give the Wild Gators a 14-0 lead.
With 2:50 remaining in the quarter, Ford added another touchdown to the Gators’ lead, and Brody Smith got the conversion to make the score 22-0. Creek Bridge would get their only run at the 57 second mark on a 22-yard pass, followed by a successful two-point conversion from Crawford to put the score at 22-8.
Finally, with just 25 seconds left in the half, Ford scored again on a pass from Steele Mendenhall. The run was good to put the Gators up 30-8.
The second half saw good efforts from both teams but only Lake View would add any more points on the board. With 2:41 left in the third, Turner scored a run with a kick from Darius Leonard for the final score of 37-8.
Lake View’s Ken Turner rushed for 185 yards on 19 carries and Shaquille Foxworth had nine carries for 125 yards. Foxworth also made three catches for 41 yards, and Chris Ford was six for eight passing for 70 yards.
Lake View evened out their record to 4-4 overall and 2-2 in Region 8A. Creek Bridge remains winless this season with an 0-7 record.
