Dorothy Nolan, 83, died Sunday, August 21, 2011 at her residence after an illness.
Born in Dillon County on August 29, 1927, she was the daughter of the late John Kersey and Gracie Turner Kersey.
She was a homemaker and a member of Trinity Holiness Church of Latta, but attended Mallory Church of God of Latta where she helped her brother, Rev. David Kersey start the church.
She is survived by her sons, L.G. Nolan (companion, Gail), Johnny Nolan, and Alton Nolan, all of Latta; daughters, Carolyn Matthews (F.M.) of Sellers, Betty Cook (Randy) of Oak Grove, Linda Hopkins (Cotton) of Sellers, Bobbi Roberts (Mack) of Latta, and Denise McNeil (David) of Dillon; 12 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren; brothers include Mack Kersey, Doug Kersey, and Rev. David Kersey, all of Latta; one very special sister, Gretelle Hayes of Latta.
Mrs. Nolan was preceded in death by her husband, Ansel Nolan; son, James Earl Nolan; and 4 grandchildren, Darlene and Glen Cook, Wayne Nolan, and Karen Nolan.
