The Dillon City Council passed the first reading tonight (Monday) to amend the zoning map for First Baptist Church to allow for a free medical clinic to locate at 305 E. Washington Street.
All council members voted for the first reading with the exception of Councilman Johnny Eller, who voted against it, and Councilman John Braddy, who was absent.
The vote followed a lively discussion with comments from Councilman Johnny Eller, Rev. Dickie Cullum, Jamie Arnette, Nell Vincent-Dillon Planning Commission board chair, and Ernest Barrentine-the Dillon Free Medical Clinic board chair.
Details from the meeting and more on the free medical clinic will be in Thursday’s issue of The Dillon Herald.
