Services for Sam Jackson were held 11:00 a.m. Saturday in Pyerian Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held 6-8 p.m. Friday in Cooper Funeral Home.
Mr. Jackson, 85, died Wednesday, June 8, 2011 at his residence.
Born in Marion County, SC, July 2, 1925, he was the son of the late Jessie James Jackson and Ellen Watson Jackson. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran of World War II, a member of Pyerian Baptist Church, and was a retired Carpenter.
Survivors include his wife, Frances Jackson of Dillon; sons, Mickey (Judith) Jackson, Randy Jackson, and Victor (Tammy) Jackson, all of Dillon; grandchildren, Sam M. (Hope) Jackson, Jr., Brad Jackson, Megan Jackson, Lee Jackson, Corey Jackson, and Payton Jackson; great-grandchildren, Mason Jackson and Paisley Jackson; sisters, Gussie (Edison) Cox of Fork, and Ida Mae Blackmon of Dillon.
