Donald Mitchell Rouse, Sr., 72, died Saturday, June 11, 2011 at home after an extended illness. A graveside service was held at 11:00 am on Monday, June 13, 2011 at Palmetto Memorial Gardens, directed by Richardson Funeral Home of Marion.
Mr. Rouse was born in Marion, a son of the late Hassie and Bernice Daniels Rouse. He was retired from Asea Brow Bovery (ABB) where he was a manufacturing engineer of circuit breakers. Mr. Rouse served in the National Guard, and was a member of Little Bethel Baptist Church, the Civitans, and the Jaycees.
Surviving are his wife, Norma Rogers Rouse of the home; sons, Donald Mitchell Rouse, Jr. (Robin) of Marion and David Carlye Rouse of Marion; sister, Joanne Rouse Adams of Conway; and four grandchildren, Daniel Price Rouse, Martin Reese Rouse, David Carlye Rouse, Jr “DJ”, and Matthew Wayne Bumgarner.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Little Bethel Baptist Church, 3811 Bluff Road, Mullins, SC 29574.
