Services for Clarence Arnette will be held Tuesday at 3:00 P.M. in Mt. Calvary Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation is 7-9 Monday in Cooper Funeral Home.
Mr. Arnette, 92, died Sunday at his residence after an illness.
Born in Dillon County, May 2, 1919 he was the son of the late Carlie Arnette and Pearlie Butler Arnette. He was the widower of the late Leona T. Arnette, was a member of Mt. Calvary Baptist Church where he was a former deacon and sunday school superintendent. He was retired from Life of Virginia Insurance Company and was a U.S. Navy Veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his daughters, Pauline (Vernon) Webster of Dillon and Maxine (Troy) Price of Hamer; son, Wilmer (Brenda) Arnette of Dillon; sisters, Beatrice (Leslie) McKenzie of Dillon, Rosa Mae (Billy) Stone of Rowland, N.C., and Esther Thomas of Dillon; brothers, Eddie Arnette, Alton (Katherine) Arnette, and Monroe (Helen) all of Dillon; 6 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren;
Mr. Arnette was preceded in death by his son, Clarence Clifford Arnette, grandson, Troy Horace Price Jr., and brothers, Albert Arnette, Clyde Arnette, Gentry Arnette, Floyd Arnette, and infant brother James Arnette.
