Mrs. Hazel S. Elvington, 91, went home to be with the Lord April 24, 2011 on Resurrection Morning at her home at 656 Cooktown Rd., Lake View, after an illness.

Funeral service will be Tuesday, April 26, 2011 at 2:00 pm at Kemper Baptist Church in Lake View and burial to follow at Lake View Cemetery directed by Cooke Funeral Home. The Family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday, April 25, 2011 at Cooke Funeral Home in Lake View.

Mrs. Elvington was born in Dillon County. The daughter of the late Nathan Thomas Scott and Myrtle Miller Scott. She was a member of Kemper Baptist Church where she taught the Sunbeams. She worked at Russell Stover Candy Plant.

Surviving Mrs. Elvington are her two sons, Robert “Bobby” H. (Sara) Elvington, Jr. of Lake View, and Johnny Thomas (Sherry) Elvington of Lake View; her granddaughter, Jesica (Derek) Kampka of Lake View; Grandsons, Richard (Darla) Elvington of Abilene, Texas, and Robin (Joanna) Elvington of Lake View: Great Grandchildren are Amber, Kaylee & Carlee Pitcher of Abilene, Texas, and Abigail M. Elvington of Lake View.

Mrs. Elvington was preceded in death by her husband, Robert H. Elvington, and her daughter, Saundra Garris.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Kemper Baptist Church of Lake View and the Gideon’s Chapter of Dillon SC.
