Dillon County Council Chairman Archie Scott has been elected to the S.C. Association of Counties Board.
Scott was elected at SCAC’s Legislative Conference to fill the unexpired term of Anderson County Council Member Gracie S. Floyd.
His term will expire on Dec. 31, 2013.
According to the SCAC website, “Chartered on June 22, 1967, the South Carolina Association of Counties (SCAC) is the only state organization representing county government in South Carolina. Its membership, which includes all 46 counties, spans the spectrum from predominately urban to rural. By virtue of a county’s membership in SCAC, all of its elected and appointed officials become participants in an organization dedicated to improving county government. SCAC is a non-partisan, nonprofit organization which maintains a full-time staff in Columbia. It is governed by a 29-member Board of Directors, composed of county officials from across South Carolina.”
