Donald “Don” Errol Carter, 66, of Dillon, SC, passed away on Tuesday, February 13, 2024. He was the husband of Lydia Hughes Carter.
A graveside service was previously held on Friday, February 16, 2024, at Memorial Park Cemetery Oraningeburg, SC.
Don was born in Neeses, SC, a son of the late Curtis L. Carter and Virginia Phillips Carter. He was a graduate of Hunter-Kinard-Tyler High School. Don worked for Greenwood Mills and Don Smith Surveyors. In addition, Don assisted his wife at the Business Enterprise Program. He was affiliated with Philadelphia Church of God. Don enjoyed cooking and loved to experiment with new recipes.
In addition to his wife of 44 years, Don is survived by his brother, Jacob Carter of Columbia, SC; brother-in-laws, Chris Hughes (Cheri) and Lynn Hughes (Maureen); sister-in-law, Brenda Etheredge; a number of nieces and nephews; and his trusted and loyal companions, Cashew and RuRu. He was predeceased by his brother, Joseph Carter.
