The Darlington Falcons handed Lake View a 13-0 loss in the jamboree played in Dillon on Friday, August 11.
Lake View #2 carried for 7 yards and then picked up a first down on the next play. Lake View’s #3 carried for a short gain. On the next play, Lake View fumbled…Darlington recovered.
The Falcons moved the football to Lake View’s 33-yard line and a penalty gave the Falcons better field position. The Falcons’ #9 carried to Lake View’s 5-yard line and then to the 2-yard line. On the next play, Darlington fumbled, and Lake View recovered.
After Lake View was unable to pick up a first down, Lake View’s #19 punted the football to Darlington’s 45-yard line. From there, Darlington’s #11 tossed a pass that moved the football to Lake View’s 32-yard line. On the next play, the Falcons’ quarterback was run out of bounds but not before he picked up a first down. The Falcons’ #11 fired a pass to #5 who picked up a first down on Lake View’s 6-yard line. Darlington’s #5 was on the receiving end of a TD pass. The Falcon’s #52’s PAT was good to give Darlington a 7-0 lead with 44 seconds remaining in the first quarter.
Lake View’s #3 carried for 9 yards on the first play from offense followed by #2 who picked up a first down. Tyrell Foxworth rushed for a first down for the Wild Gators.
Lake View was faced with a fourth down and thanks to an offside penalty by Darlington, the Wild Gators had new life. Lake View’s quarterback, #14, fired a completion to #1.
Darlington managed to stop Lake View again and took over on their own 21-yard line.
Darlington’s quarterback, #11, kept for big yardage.
On the next play, the Falcons’ quarterback fired a pass to #5 that added 6 points to the score with 3:42 remaining in the game.
The PAT was wide to the right. Darlington was up 13-0.
Lake View’s Landon King picked up 2 yards followed by #24 who picked up 2 yards but there was a flag against Lake View. #25 for Lake View was stopped short of a first down.
The Wild Gators’ quarterback, #14, fired a pass to #9 who carried to the 40-yard line for a first down. Another completed pass to #17 moved the ball to Darlington’s 17-yard line. Time expired after 2 quick plays.
