MRS. ANNE S. MALLETT was honored for her 100th birthday with a celebration organized at her home by Community Excellence, led by Toni Graves. Mrs. Mallett was born in Summerton, where she attended Liberty Hill AME Church. She came to Dillon and attended Bethel AME Church and was involved in the Criterion Club, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, and Eastern Star Euclid 24th Chapter. She was a teacher for 30 years. On hand to honor Mrs. Mallett was Senator Kent Williams, who presented her a resolution; Mayor Tally McColl, who presented her a key to the city, members of Community Excellence, and members of the organizations that she has been a part of over the years.
