The faculty and staff at Stewart Heights Elementary have selected Mrs. Brittney Thompson for the 2023-2024 Teacher of the Year.

Mrs. Thompson is from Dillon, South Carolina. She is a 2005 graduate of Dillon High School. She earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education from The University of South Carolina Upstate. She continued her education at Grand Canyon University, where she earned a Master’s Degree in Educational Administration and a Master’s Degree in Library Science at North Carolina Central University. She has taught at Dillon District Four since 2011 and is the school librarian at Stewart Heights Elementary. She became an educator because of her love for teaching children.
Her mission is to make learning and reading fun and engaging, while building positive relationships with her students. She strives to make sure all children feel loved.
Brittney grew up and resides in Dillon. She and her husband, Lee, have a three year old son, Brentlee.
