BENNETTSVILLE—The family of Karen “Kay” Morris Knight is heart-broken to announce her sudden death. Kay passed away Monday, May 29, 2023, at McLeod Health Cheraw. She was 65 years old.

Born in Mullins, SC, Kay was the only daughter of the late Joe and Ruby Johnson Morris. She received her associate degree from Northeastern Technical College in Cheraw and was employed for many years in human resources with Marley Engineered Products, and most recently with the Marlboro County School District. Kay was a member of Christ Church of Bennettsville. Kay was fun-loving, with a vibrant personality and a good sense of humor. She enjoyed eating out, shopping, and watching soap operas. She especially treasured the time spent with her family. She will be dearly missed.
Kay was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Joseph Daniel “Jeep” Morris.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory her husband, Fred Alexander Knight of Bennettsville; sons, Joseph Alexander Knight and Jacob Daniel Knight of Bennettsville; stepson, Frederick Harris Knight (Katie) of Charlotte; brother, Larry “Spot” Morris of Fairmont; grandchildren, Allison “Allie” Knight, Mary Katherine Knight, Hunter Milligan; and many other beloved family members and friends.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, June 2, 2023, at Christ Church of Bennettsville, followed by burial in Sunset Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 1, 2023, at the church.
