OCALA, FL – William “Kip” Kirkland Rhodes, Jr., 81, went to be with his Savior, May 12, 2023.
Graveside funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 17, 2023, at Bethesda Southern Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends after the service. Kannaday Funeral Home in Latta is assisting the family.
Kip was born August 5, 1941 in Darlington, SC the son of the late Kathleen and William Kirkland Rhodes, Sr. Kip was a member of the First Baptist Church in Darlington, SC. He served in the U. S. Air Force and later retired from the U. S. Post office after thirty-one years in Darlington, SC. Kip’s sister, Kay (Billy) Banks went to heaven to be with her Savior at an early age of 35. Kip leaves to cherish his memory to his wife, Norma Jean Rhodes; a daughter, Pam Thomas (Morrey) of Darlington, SC; son, Mike Rhodes of Darlington, SC; sisters, Toni Adams of Florence, SC and Sandy Harper (Andy) of Darlington, SC; brother, Gerald Rhodes (Yvonne) of Florence, SC; two grandsons, Lucas and David Byrd of Darlington, SC; stepson, Matthew T. Hartley (friend, Angie) of Oak Grove, SC; grandsons, Alex Hartley (Nikki) and Ryan Hartley (Brittany) of Oak Grove, SC; six adorable great grandchildren, Shane, Bentley, Talon, Felix, Vivian, and Olive; and sister-in-law, Lucy L. Smith of Marion, SC.
