S. C. State Representative District 55 Jackie E. Hayes throws out the first pitch to kick off the Dillon Kiwanis baseball season at the Ray Wilson Field on Monday, March 4, before a huge crowd of players, family, friends, and spectators.
Also, present was long-time Kiwanian Lonnie Turner who is side-lined due to a broken ankle. Mr. Turner was there although he was in a wheelchair due to a broken ankle. He was scheduled for surgery on Tuesday morning, April 5.
After prayer by Rev. Matt Adams of the First Presbyterian Church of Dillon, the National Anthem was played.
There were seventeen teams present including the T-ball teams from the City of Dillon. All players and coaches were introduced by Rev. Matt Adams who is also one of the coaches.
Two minor league teams, B&C Steakhouse Reds and Physicians Healthcare Yankees, faced off in the first game of the season with B&C winning 9-5.
