Christine A. Miller (Chris), July 10,1944-Nov 2, 2021, of Dillon SC transitioned peacefully Tuesday morning into her heavenly home with the love of her life, her husband/companion by her side just as he had been for over 53 years. Not far away was her sister and best friend Emily. Chris and Emily had lived with in a mile or so of each other always. Chris, Russ and Emily were like the 3 Amigos, laughing, loving, supporting each other and weathering the storms together.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, November 5, 2021 at Cooper Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Greenlawn Cemetery. Visitation will be held 10:00-11:00 a.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
So it is bittersweet that while we rejoice that Chris is in her heavenly home free from pain and illness, she is away from her family and friends that love her and will miss her until we see her again.
Mayo Angelo once said, “I’ve learned that people will forget what you said, forget what you did but people will never forget how you made them feel.” Chris’s light shone brightly. She had a way of making everyone she knew or met feel special. You could say, she never met a stranger and always had a kind or funny word to share. Chris was generous in nature and a loving person.
Chris enjoyed having her nails and hair done every Wednesday by her favorite technician Tabby. These were her good for the body and soul days.
Chris also enjoyed reading, among her favorite genre were cookbooks but she also loved reading magazines such as Angels and Womans World.
Every Christmas, Chris would hope for a White Christmas. She loved snow but haven lived in the south most of her life, this was a rare site.
Although Chris and Russ never had children, they considered nephews Rick and Ronnie and niece Sandra to be like their own and treated them as such.
So it is in loving memory of Chris that we remember her life and will celebrate the beautiful, fun spirited and kind heartedness of this gentle woman that lived life to the fullest as long as she was able. We will remember her smile, her laughter, her mischievous wit and humor but mostly we will remember how she loved us and how that made us feel…pretty special.
Christine is survived by her husband Marine Russell H. Miller of Dillon SC, formerly of Montrose PA, Sister Emily A Page of Dillon SC, Sister Carol A Ginn of Columbia SC, AKA children, son Cecil Richard Cox(wife Rita) and daughter Sandra C Bettex.
