Graveside services for Ella Mae Grant will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, September 9, 2021 at Greenlawn Cemetery directed by Cooper Funeral Home.
Mrs. Grant, 95, passed away Tuesday, September 7, 2021 at the McLeod Hospice House in Florence surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Dillon County, SC, March 10, 1928, she was the daughter of the late John and Donnie H. Carter of Dillon. She was an active member of First Baptist Church of Dillon where she taught Sunday school for many years, was active in mission ministry, and in the “Golden Years” Sunday school class.
Mrs. Grant was married to Allen B. Grant. She worked with Dillon Schools for twenty-two years. After retirement she and her husband enjoyed traveling. She was a devoted mother, wife, and grandmother.
Survivors include her daughter, Sharon G. Monroe of Fayetteville, NC; grandchildren, Allen B. Grant, III, of Jacksonville, FL and Lindsey Reiser of Savannah, GA; one great-grandchild, Rabon of Georgia; Mrs. Grant loved and enjoyed several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Grant was preceded in death by her husband, Allen B. Grant; son, Allen Grant, Jr.; sister, Mrs. Darwin Webster (Elizabeth) and her brother, James Carter.
