The Revs. Lyn and Adrienne Anderson have been called as a team to Peniel Baptist Church between Florence and Timmonsville.
An installation service and dinner were held for the couple at the church this past Sunday.
Rev. Adrienne said that this church is the church that Rev. Lyn was reared, baptized and ordained in.
When the church lost their last pastor, the chairman of the deacons asked Rev. Lyn to serve as an interim, which he has been doing since August.
The church eventually decided they wanted him to be their permanent pastor, but he turned them down.
They voted on Rev. Adrienne, who has been the pastor at Fork Presbyterian Church for the past six years, and wanted her also and asked them to come on board as a team.
Rev. Adrienne said they had been praying for an opportunity to get back to serving together, and this was their chance.
The Andersons plan to live initially in the church parsonage.
They invite all of their Dillon County friends to visit them if they are in the area. Sunday School is at 10 a.m., worship is at 11 a.m., and Sunday night services begin at 7 p.m.
