The Lake View Wild Gators returned home on Friday, January 8, with 73-66 win over the Timmonsville Whirlwinds in varsity boys basketball action.
Lake View held a 15-point lead, 20-5, after the first period of play. At halftime, the Wild Gators were up by 5 points, 26-21.
After 3 periods of play, Lake View held a 7-point lead.
D J Bethea led Lake with 19 points including five 2-point baskets and 9 free throws followed by Michael McInnis with 17 points. Marquise Johnson pumped in six 2-point baskets for 12 points. Da’Correus had 8 points, and Tyqual McCants and Shaheed Dawkins each added 6 points in the win. Raejan Rogers connected for a 2-point basket and a free throw while Raekwan McNeil sank a 2-point basket.
The Whilrlwinds’ C. Taylor scored 42 points to lead everyone in the scoring department. J. Greene added 9 points while T. Echols scored 5 points. X. Brown connected for two 2-point baskets for 4 points.
Lake View committed 12 fouls in the first half and 9 fouls in the second half while Timmonsville committed 12 fouls in the first half and 12 in the second half.
