Almost everywhere you look, COVID-19 precautions are being advertised whether it is on social media, tv, and even your local newspaper, and there is a reason.
COVID-19 cases are continuing to climb in our state, and we must all do our part to get the numbers into a decline. This means we must take certain steps to protect ourselves and others and stop the spread.
Some of the ways we can do this are:
—Wearing a mask when going to places like the grocery store, etc.
—Frequently washing your hands and using hand sanitizer when handwashing is not an option.
—Avoding large group gatherings.
—Practicing social distancing.
—Wiping down frequently touched surfaces such as your cell phone, steering wheels and car door handles, door knobs, light switches, appliance handles, etc. If you or someone else touches it frequently, then wipe it.
—Staying home and away from others if you are sick.
There is a free COVID-19 testing at Weston Chapel AME Church in Latta on Thursday from 10:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. If you want or need to be tested take advantage of this opportunity in our community.
If we all do our part, the spread will stop sooner rather than later. If we don’t, the spread will only continue to get worse and will continue to create problems for a long time to come. Do your part to stop the spread.
