On Saturday night, November 30, 2019, the Dillon County Sheriff’s Office, Dillon County EMS, and Dillon Rescue were dispatched to a shots fired call and someone being shot on Heustess Road in the Judson area of the county, according to Captain Cliff Arnette of the Dillon County Sheriff’s Office.
Coroner Donnie Grimsley identified the victim as Montresse Dudley, a 41-year-old black male from Dillon. He said Dudley died of gunshot wounds. He said the shooting occurred across from a night club on Heustess Road in a field.
While enroute to the call, deputies located a vehicle at the intersection of Judson Road and Highway 57 North that was transporting the shooting victim to the hospital. The victim was checked by EMS and Rescue personnel and determined to be deceased.
The death is being treated as a homicide and is currently under investigation by the Dillon County Sheriff’s Office and the Dillon County Coroner’s Office. The Dillon Police Department assisted the Dillon County Sheriff’s Office.
