Minutes of September meeting read and approved.
A very informative program on Firefighter Safety and Survival was presented by Mr. Neal Murphy of Elizabethtown, NC. Mr. Murphy said that if we didn’t get anything else from his presentation, the number one survival tip is to TRAIN, TRAIN, TRAIN. Each department needs to train just like they respond. October 23rd there will be countywide training at Station 4 beginning at 9am
Discussion was held on the success of the Firefighter Appreciation Day. We had five stations represented and some great support from local businesses for donations of money, food and great gifts for door prizes. A special thank you to Donna Hargrove for heading up the project and the great job that she did. The total cost to each of the four stations was $76.56 each.
Everyone was given a handout on Future Firefighter Act from LLR.
