Dr. Pete Cassidy was the guest speaker for Mount Calvary Baptist Church’s 123rd Homecoming service held on Sunday, Oct. 31, at 11:00 a.m.
Baptism was held at the beginning of the service conducted by Rev. Greg Hyler, pastor of Mount Calvary Baptist Church, followed by special singing by the Mount Calvary Quartet consisting of Gene Tanner, Debbie Hill, Bobbie Lee, and Gene Hill.
Dr. Cassidy began by reminiscing of his time as pastor of Mount Calvary Baptist Church from the summer of 1972-1979.
Dr. Cassidy’s sermon was from Psalm 56:8, Exodus 25:37-40, and Malachi 3:16-18.
Immediately following the service dinner was served at the Family Life Center and the Fellowship Hall to a large crowd.
Dr. Cassidy is married to the former Ann Woodle of Latta, and they have two sons and five grandchildren.
Dr. Cassidy is presently serving as an interim pastor at White Knoll Baptist Church near Lexington.
Mount Calvary Baptist Church is located at 405 Mount Calvary Road, Dillon.
