Eugene Paige appeared before council to solicit help with his proposed Dillon Veterans/Youth Training Center. The center would be used to shelter homeless veterans and also as a type of boot camp for youth. Paige was requesting $5,000 from the city to help purchase a temporary facility for the project. Mayor Todd Davis told Paige that council would review the information. Davis said he would talk to Jerry Huggins of Veterans Affairs in the coming weeks and get back to him.
