The Lake View Wild Gators returned home on Thursday, August 22, with a 46-6 season-opener win over the Hannah-Pamplico Red Raiders.

The Lake View Wild Gators returned home on Thursday, August 22, with a 46-6 season-opener win over the Hannah-Pamplico Red Raiders.
The Red Raiders were to be plagued with 5 turnovers in the game this evening.
Lake View not only was impressive on offense but the young defense made tremendous strides in stopping the Red Raiders.
Lake View kicked-off to Hannah-Pamplico to start the game. Lake View took over on downs and was also forced to punt. However, the Wild
Gators recovered the fumble but quickly turned the ball over themselves on a pass interception.
Hannah-Pamplico took over on their own 22-yard line and began to move the ball. After picking up 3 first downs, the Red Raiders were forced to punt. This time the ball was centered over the punter’s head, and Lake View took over on their own 45-yard line. Lake View’s Ja’Correus Ford got the scoring started with a 50-yard run that would be the first of many points in the game. The 2-point conversion was good, and Lake View led 8-0 with 24 seconds remaining in the first quarter.
Hannah-Pamplico was forced to punt again, and Lake View quickly placed 6 points on the scoreboard as once again Ja’Correus Ford carried the ball 55 yards into the end zone. After successfully scoring on the 2-point conversion, a penalty was against Lake View, and the play had to be repeated. This time, Lake View came up short but led 14-0 with 5:41 remaining in the first half.
Hannah-Pamplico once again suffered a bad snap on fourth down, and Lake View recovered the ball on the 1-yard line. After a penalty, Lake View found themselves on the 11-yard line. Adarrian Dawkins carried the ball in for 6 points. Ja’Correus Ford carried the ball in on the 2-point conversion. Lake View led 20-0 with 3:13 remaining inthe first half.
Lake View turned the ball over a couple of times in the third quarter that allowed the Red Raiders’ quarterback Jaheim Wilson pitched one to Davian Coaxum for a 5-yard run for the only score of the evening for Hannah-Pamplico.
Lake View responded quickly with a 73-yard run by quarterback Adarrian Dawkins.
The Wild Gators added to the score on back-to-back turnovers. Jiqyle Reaves intercepted a Jaheim Wilson pass and returned it 80 yards with only 10 seconds remaining in the third quarter. Marquise Johnson picked off another Wilson pass and returned it 35 yards to pay dirt.
The last Wild Gators’ points came off a Red Raiders’ fumble that Adarrian Dawkins kept for a 1-yard score.
Lake View will travel to Johnsonville on Friday, August 30, for a 7:30 p.m. game. Support your team.
