The Dillon Wildcats varsity baseball team returned home Friday night from Loris after suffering a 10-4 loss to the Loris Lions.
Loris picked up 2 runs in the bottom of the first inning. Dillon responded in the top of the second inning with 4 runs of their own. However, Loris answered with 4 runs in the bottom of the second inning. The Lions added 2 runs in the bottom of the third inning and 2 runs in the bottom of the 5 inning
Loris managed 5 hits in the game while holding Dillon to only 1 hit. Nigel George got the hit and stole a base for Dillon.
Tanner Kennedy pitched the entire 7 innings and allowed 4 runs of which only 1 was earned, walked 4, and struck out 2.
Noah Carter was charged with the loss. He pitched 3 2/3 innings and allowed 5 hits, 5 runs of which 4 were earned, walked 5, and struck out 4.
Dillon will travel to Marion today (Tuesday, March 26) for a 6:30 p.m. game.

The Dillon Lady Wildcats handed Loris a 11-1 loss in 5 innings in Loris on Friday, March 22.
Dillon jumped out to an early 2-0 lead in the top of the first inning and added 4 runs in the top of the third inning before Loris scored the lone run for them in the bottom of the third inning. Dillon added 5 more runs in the top of the fifth inning.
Dillon had 11 hits in the game while Loris had 3 hits. Dillon’s Skyler McCoy connected for 2 hits and 4 rbi including a home run. Qyeisha Wilson doubled and singled in her 4 at-bats. Monazia Sowells picked up the win. She pitched 5 innings and allowed 3 hits, 1 earned run, walked 5, and struck out 1.
Gore was tagged with the loss. She pitched 5 innings and allowed 11 hits, 11 runs of which 8 were earned, walked 1, and struck out 6.
Dillon is 6-1 for the season and 2-1 in Region 6-3A. Dillon will travel to Marion today (Tuesday, March 26) for a 6:30 p.m. game.
