Lake View’s Thomas Skipper pitched the entire 7-inning game and struck out 11 and walked only 1 to pick up the 6-2 win over Green Sea Floyds in Green Sea on Friday, March 22.
Lake View placed 2 runs on the scoreboard in the top of the first inning and added 2 runs in the top of the fourth inning. Green Sea Floyds placed 2 runs on the scoreboard in the bottom of the fourth inning to cut Lake View’s lead to 2 runs. In the top of the sixth inning, Lake View placed 2 runs on the scoreboard.
The Wild Gators’ Peyton Jackson connected for a double, a single, and 3 rbi in his 4 at-bats while Jordan King was perfect at the plate with 3 hits and a rbi in his 3 at-bats. Elliott was charged with the loss for Green Sea Floyds. He pitched 2 1/3 innings and allowed 5 hits, 4 runs of which 3 were earned, walked 2, and struck out 3.
Lake View is 6-4 for the season and 3-0 in Region 6-A.
Lake View will travel to East Clarendon on Thursday, March 28, for a 5:30 p.m. game.
