Dillon Christian School connected for 2 runs in the top of the first inning. The lead was short-lived as Thomas Sumter placed 4 runs on the scoreboard in the bottom of the first inning. The Warriors added a run in the top of the second inning and added 12 runs in the top of the third inning. Thomas Sumter added a run in the bottom of the fourth inning.
Dillon Christian School connected for 15 hits while holding Thomas Sumter to 8 hits.
The Warriors’ John Rourke had 3 hits including a double and 2 rbi in his 4 at-bats. Trent Johnson connected for 2 hits including a double and 2 rbi in his 4 at-bats. Daniel Camp connected for a triple and a rbi in his 2 at-bats. Collin Hamilton had a hit and 2 rbi in his 4 at-bats. Barnes Causey had a double and a rbi in his 4 at-bats.
Dillon Christian School committed 3 errors, and Thomas Sumter committed 6 errors in the game.
Trent Johnson was credited with the win. He pitched 5 innings and allowed 8 hits, 5 runs that were not earned, walked 1, and struck out 3.
Ethan Lisenby was charged with the loss. He pitched 3 innings and allowed 14 hits, 15 runs of which 4 were earned, walked no one, and struck out 3.
Dillon Christian School will travel to Robert E. Lee on Friday, March 22, for a 6:30 p.m. game.
