Marlboro Academy handed the visiting Dillon Christian School a 9-3 loss in varsity softball action played on Tuesday, March 19.
Dillon Christian School got on the scoreboard with a run in the top of the first inning. Marlboro Academy took the lead in the bottom of the second inning with 4 runs. In the top of the fourth inning, Dillon Christian School placed 2 runs on the scoreboard. In the bottom of the fifth inning, Marlboro Academy added a run and in the bottom of the sixth inning added 4 runs.
Marlboro Electric managed 15 hits while holding the Lady Warriors to 2 hits.
Marlboro Academy’s Ragan Liles connected for 3 hits including a double and 3 rbi in her 4 at-bats. Laney McLaughlin had 2 rbi and 2 hits in 4 at-bats. Makayla Parks connected for 3 hits including a double and 1 rbi in her 4 at-bats.
Dillon Christian School’s Shayla Hunt had 2 hits and 2 rbi in her 3 at-bats. Ragan Liles was credited with the win. She pitched 5 innings and allowed 2 hits, 3 runs of which none were earned, walked no one, and struck out 11.
Lindsay Branch was charged with the loss. She pitched 6 innings and allowed 15 hits, 9 earned runs, walked 3, and struck out 3.
Dillon Christian School will travel to Robert E. Lee on Friday, March 22, for a 6:30 p.m. game.

The Dillon Christian School Warriors returned home on Tuesday, March 19, having suffered a 6-2 loss to Marlboro Academy in Bennettsville in varsity baseball action.
Marlboro Academy took a 2-run lead in the bottom of the first inning and added 4 runs in the bottom of the fourth inning. Dillon Christian School scored 2 runs in he top of the fifth inning.
The Warriors could only muster 2 hits in the game while Marlboro Academy managed 6 hits.
Daniel Camp led the Warriors with a hit and 2 rbi in his 4 at-bats.
Luke Johnson was perfect at the plate connecting for 3 hits including a double and a rbi in his 3 at-bats. Blake Dean added a rbi and a hit in his 4 at-bats. Devin Hardee had a hit in his 4 at-bats.
Josh Griggs picked up the win for Marlboro Academy. He pitched 6 innings and allowed 2 runs that were not earned, walked 4, and struck out 12.
Jared Darmon was charged for the loss. He pitched 4 innings and allowed 4 hits, 4 runs that were not earned, walked 2, and struck out 3.
Dillon Christian School will travel to Robert E. Lee on Friday, March 22, for a 6:30 p.m. game.
