The young Dillon Christian School Warriors varsity boys basketball season came to an end on Saturday, February 16, at the hands of Bethesda Christian School, 73-51, in the SCISA state playoffs held in Sumter.
Dillon Christian School held a slim 2-point lead, 19-17 after the first period of play. By halftime, Dillon Christian was trailing 37-20. By the end of 3 periods of play, Bethesda was up 56-38.
The Warriors’ Ian Bethea had a game-high 27 points of which he connected on five 3-point baskets, a 2-point basket, and 8 free throws. Phillip Campbell added 10 points as he made two 3-point baskets and two 2-point baskets. Ethan Brewington sank two 3-point baskets. Jason Chen and Chad DuBose each connected for two 2-point baskets for 4 points each.
Zyere Edwards led Bethesda with 18 points followed by Andru Sutton with 16 points. Robert Moore added 11 points, and Kajuan Worthy and A. McKay each placed 8 points on the scoreboard. Carlton Brown contributed 5 points, and Donte Dorman added 3 points. Reggie Godson and Danie Bass each garnered 2 points.
