Margaret Hyatt Rowland, 85, left this life peacefully surrounded by her family on Wednesday, February 13, 2019 – exactly one year since her brother, David Hyatt passed. She was born on Halloweén and loved to celebrate with Trick or Treaters. She lived in Floyd Dale all of her life.

Funeral services were held 3:00 p.m. Saturday at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church with entombment in Evergreen Cemetery Mausoleum directed by Cooper Funeral Home. Visitation was 2-3 p.m. prior to the service at the church.

Also predeceased by her sister-in-law, Lib Taylor, special niece Amanda Taylor and special nephew, Dennis (Dank) Hyatt. Margaret retired from Dixiana in 1988 for health reasons. She was quite active then and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. She was a member of Mount Calvary Baptist Church, where she had a great Sunday school class and wonderful friends. She faced mounting health problems, but that didn’t stop her from enjoying life, sunshine, and peanut butter. She was an avid reader of exclusively mystery and murder novels.

She had six grandchildren: Jessica (Jason) Smith of Columbia, Kristen (Frankie) McCall of Latta, Gary (Sarah) McDaniel of Mullins, Caitlin Dwyer of New Orleans, Liza Dwyer of Sumter, Tiffany Dwyer of Dillon. She had five great grandchildren: Candy, Westen, Logan, Ashlynn, and Sophia.
Margaret was a loving mother, a giving grandmother and a grateful great-grandmother. She will always be remembered for her love to laugh, going barefoot in the hot summer heat, and her feisty spirit.
