Mrs. Rosie Cox Jackson, 65, beloved wife of Walter C. (W.C.) Jackson, Jr., passed away peacefully on Monday, December 31, 2018 at the McLeod Hospice House in Florence, surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Dillon, South Carolina, on February 27, 1953, she was the daughter of the late Lonnie Alton Cox and Annie Mae Moore Cox. After graduating from high school, she furthered her education at Frances Marion University in Florence, SC, where she earned her Associates Degree in Business. She was a faithful member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church and was employed as a Fraud Investigator for DSS for over 40 years. Mrs. Rosie was a humble spirit who served everyone she met with joy, as she always tried to make their day a better one. She had a talent for crafting, crocheting, and cross stitching. She was known for making baby blankets for many expecting parents as soon as the baby’s gender was determined. Her greatest joy in life was her family. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend to all who were blessed to have known her.
She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 33 years, Walter C. (WC.) Jackson, Jr. of their home; 2 precious daughters, Kasey Leigh Jackson of Charleston, SC and Marie J. Wolfe (Christian) of Dillon; 2 sisters, Mary Ann Townsend (Eddie) of Latta and Susie (Kenny) Edwards of Dillon; grandchildren, Jackson, Ruthie and Annabelle Wolfe; nieces and nephews, Louis Edwards, Brad Edwards, Branford Townsend, Elizabeth Townsend and Lance Townsend; also by many friends and her church family.
Graveside Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 3,2019 at Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery, directed by Cooper Funeral Home. Mr. Kay McGirt will officiate. The family will receive friends from 2-3 p.m. on Thursday at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, 808 Elkin Road, Hamer, SC 29547.
