William Nicholas Turner, Sr., 64, was called home on Saturday, December 15, 2018 at Curis Care in Thomasville, North Carolina. A native of Dillon, South Carolina, born August 7, 1954, a son to the late Daniel Turner and Mildred Strickland. He was also preceded in death by a wife of forty- six years, Shirley Turner, three brothers, Junior Turner, Earl Turner, David Turner, two sisters, Daisy Mae Turner, and Sally Martin.
William was a graduate of High Point Central in the class of 1972. He then attended college at G.T.C.C. He was a Veteran of the Air Force.
Left to cherish his memory are a son, William N. Turner Jr. (Christina) of Thomasville; a daughter, Cheryl L. Gardner (Mark) of Lexington; a brother, Lloyd Turner (Wendy) of Dillon, South Carolina; two sisters, Tammie Oxendine of Lexington, Frances Martin of Bennettsville, South Carolina; one aunt, Joyce Lackey, whom he referred to as mom; six grandchildren, Miranda, Katelynn, Kaylie, Hannah, Logan, Liam; two great grandchildren, Levi and Leland.
There will be a gathering of family and friends, on Saturday, December 22, 2018, from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. at the Davie Burial and Cremation Chapel in Lexington, with a Celebration of Life Memorial Service to follow at 2 p.m., with Pastor Mike Irby, officiating.
