A special person to so many in her lifetime, a wonderful wife and Mother to her family, Vivian Smith Baker died Sunday night, October 14th.
She was born in Lake View, S.C., on September 14th, 1926. A member of Lake View First Baptist Church, she enjoyed serving and participating in the choir for many years. In later years, she was a resident at the Methodist Manor, Florence, SC, independent living, where she enjoyed the friendships of many fine folks.
She loved music, playing the piano, singing in the choir, and the fellowship provided by and to all.
For over forty years, Mrs. Baker worked with the Nichols Insurance Agency, Nichols, SC, serving the great people of the community and surrounding area. She retired from the agency in 1997.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George Clinton Baker, and her mother, Rosa Parrish Smith.
She is survived by her daughters, Vivian Hope (Fred) Klatt and Melissa Parrish (H.E. “Chip”) Ellerbe, a son Mark Clinton (Jeannie) Baker, six grandchildren, four great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, and sister-in-law Claire M. Baker.
She will be greatly missed by family, friends, and all who knew her.
The family will receive friends at Cooke Funeral Home, Lake View, beginning at 10:00 a.m. Thursday morning, October 18th, to be followed by graveside services at Lake View Cemetery at 11:30 a.m.
