Kentyre Presbyterian Church (PCUSA) will celebrate its history with the unveiling of a historic marker on October 28, 2018 at the church located on Kentyre Road.
The occasion will be marked with a short service, the unveiling, and a social hour in the educational building.
The church was organized in April of 1871 with the current sanctuary started in 1873 and completed the following year.
Kentyre was chosen as the name, since some of the early members were from the Kentyre region of Scotland. For context, this was during the Presidency of Ulysses S. Grant.
Dillon County names such as Campbell, Carmichael, McDaniel, McDuffie, McEachern, McIntyre, McKinley, Murphy, Stafford, and Williamson first populated the congregation as charter members.
All are invited to attend. Join us at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, October 28th to celebrate with us this special event.
