Gerald Eugene Taylor, 67, of Florence, passed away on Sunday, May 20, 2018.
Mr. Taylor was born in Dillon, SC, a son of the late Willie Taylor and Quinnie Mae Grimsley Taylor.
He had worked for the Marion County Sheriff’s Department and currently worked for American Tire Distributors for the past 30 years. He was a member of the Gregg Avenue Church of Christ and a member of the VFW. He loved his country, Westerns and the Atlanta Braves. Gerald was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Willie “Son” Taylor, Jr. and Frank Taylor, and sisters, Eva Mae Gaddy, Doris Emanuel, and Ruby Legette.
Surviving are his wife, Rena Mae Hunt Taylor of Florence; sons, Kevin (Tara) Hunt of Lamar and Ryan (fiancée, Ashleigh) Hunt of Swansea; daughters, Lori (Herman) Deas, Mitzi (Alan) Jones, and Kayla (Brandon) Willing, all of Florence; 16 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren and a sister, Shelby Watts of Dillon.

The family received friends from 5 – 6 p.m. Tuesday, May 22, 2018 at Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home with the service following at 6:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel.
