The annual Woodmen of the World Lodges 120 and 1145 Awards Dinner was held Thursday, September 30, at 7:00 p.m. at the Woodmen of the World Hall at 1362 Old Latta Highway, Dillon.

The local field representatives consisting of James W. Bethea, Jr., Gail Woodle, and Charles Taylor presided over the event.
Judy Herring welcomed the huge crowd before James Bethea had the opening Ode followed by Jack Cox who led the Pledge of Allegiance. Rev. David Fulmer had the invocation.
After a delicious buffet dinner including steaks with all the trimmings and many delicious desserts, the 120 and 1145 lodges introduced national, state, and local officers.
The presentation of awards was as follows: Caring for Others, Betty Jean Bethea; Community Leadership, Bobby McLean; Community Partner, Neighbors Helping Neighbors; Environmentalist, Johnny Mac Gasque and Harold Gasque; Fraternal Spirit, Elaine Owens and Ron Owens; Fraternal Spirit (Youth), Myra Bracey; History Award, Genesis Anderson; Contribution to Youth, Gail Woodle; Field Fraternal Excellence, James W. Bethea, Jr.; and the Family Award, the Jack Cox Family.
Two past presidents of Woodmen, Duchry Spivey and Mary Grace Spivey were recognized.
Many were recognized for 50-year pins.
A memorial service was conducted to remember those who have gone before us.
Door prizes were awarded.
Closing remarks were made before the closing Ode.
