Several items of business were taken up at the Dillon County Council meeting on January 24th.

Action taken and information received includes the following:
* The council approved $5,500 for a used 2003 JEEP Liberty for the GIS office.
* The council accepted a bid of $452,000 from Dillon Manufacturing Company for the Mohawk Building. Another bid of $300,000 was also received.
* County Administrator Rodney Berry said he was exploring the possibility of apartments for the First Citizens Building which houses economic development and the Chamber of Commerce. It will cost approximately $30,000 to replace the roof.
* In the Finance Report, Finance Director Richard Gaddy said they had a $421,000 available balance. He said the gas line payment had been completed.
The council approved the following readings:
* Second Reading – An Ordinance Authorizing The Execution and Delivery Of A Fee In Lieu Of Tax Agreement By and Between Dillon County, South Carolina And A Company Or Companies Known To The County At This Time As Project Tiny Miracle With Respect To Certain Economic Development Property In The County, Whereby Such Property Will Be Subject To Certain Payments In Lieu Of Taxes, Including The Provision Of Certain Special Source Revenue Credits; And Other Matters Related Thereto.
* First Reading – An Ordinance To Amend An Agreement For The Development Of A Joint County Industrial And Business Park (2016 Park) Of Dillon And Marlboro Counties So As To Enlarge The Park (Tiny Miracle).
* First Reading – Authorizing The Issuance And Sale Of Not Exceeding $1,000,000 General Obligation Bonds, Series 2018, Of Dillon County, South Carolina; Fixing The Form And Details Of The Bonds; Providing For The Payment Of The Bonds; Authorizing The Chairman Of County Council And County Administrator To Determine Certain Matters Relating To The Bonds; Providing For The Payment Of The Bonds; The Disposition Of The Proceeds Of The Bonds; And Other Matters Relating Thereto.
* First Reading – An Ordinance Authorizing The Execution And Delivery Of A Fee In Lieu Of Tax Agreement By And Between Dillon County, South Carolina And Cotton Solar, LLC, With Respect To Certain Economic Development Property In The County, Whereby Such Property Will Be Subject To Certain Payments In Lieu Of Taxes, Including The Provision Of Certain Special Source Credits; And Other Matters Related Thereto.
* First Reading – An Ordinance Authorizing The Execution And Delivery Of A Fee In Lieu Of Tax Agreement By And Between Dillon County, South Carolina And Whitetail Solar, LLC, With Respect To Certain Economic Development Property In The County, Whereby Such Property Will Be Subject To Certain Payments In Lieu Of Taxes, Including The Provision Of Certain Special Source Credits; And Other Matters Related Thereto.
