Work on the much-anticipated Inland Port Dillon is progressing, according to the S.C. Ports Authority.
Erin Dhand, manager of Corporate Communications and Community Affairs, said that in terms of construction, the contractor is still in the earthwork stages, and building pads and an on-site concrete batch plant have been completed.
Paving of the operational area is the next major construction activity for the next few months.
In addition to the named customers for the facility, forest products and agriculture products are both target export commodities.
Inland Port Dillon is expected to be completed in the early part of 2018.
