On November 19, 2017, the Sunday before Thanksgiving, members of First Presbyterian Church, in Dillon, pile into their cars with pies, canned goods, cranberry sauce, cornbread stuffing, and a large turkey.
These Thanksgiving meals are taken to many families in the Dillon area that are in need of assistance during the holiday season.
This year, First Presbyterian delivered these meals to fifteen families.
Jenise Bracey, David McLaurin, and the Missions Committee of the church led this effort. The canned goods are received at the Dillon Christian School, which is a ministry of First Presbyterian Church, and the boxes are prepared the week before delivery at the church.
Finally, many elders, deacons, ministry leaders, and members of the church, meet that afternoon to begin their deliveries.
While out delivering, Bibles are given to each family and prayer is offered.
The church appreciates all who helped make this ministry event a success for yet another year.
They are already looking forward to next Thanksgiving, so they can do it all over again!
