The South Carolina Rural Water Association (SCRWA) has announced the best-tasting drinking water in South Carolina.
On September 16th, 2010, Trico Water Company was announced as the winner of a state-wide, blind taste test competition.
Trico Water has earned this coveted award for an unprecedented, seven times.
Water utilities from around the Palmetto State submitted samples of their water, straight from the tap.  In a close competition , where first through third places were separated by only three points, the highest award for  best tasting drinking water  in South Carolina was achieved by Dillon County’s Trico Water Company.
Darlington County Water and Sewer Authority and Jenkinsville Water Company finished second and third respectively.  The competition is part of the National Rural Water Association’s (NRWA) Quality On Tap! campaign to emphasize the high quality, standards and, consequently, taste of public drinking water. Trico Water Company’s water will represent South Carolina in the national best tasting drinking water contest on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C. in February 2011.
