Janice H. Garris (Cooter) of Lake View passed away peacefully on September 29, 2017 at MUSC in Charleston after an illness at the age of 69.
Janice was born in Robeson County, the daughter of the late Jessie and Easley Harrelson of Fairmont, North Carolina. She is survived by her husband, Steve Garris, her children Kathy (Gene) Schwarting of Bamberg, Carl (Helenice) Garris of Mount Pleasant and Joy (Ray) Adkins of Mount Pleasant, her grandsons, Tav Schwarting (21), Garris Schwarting (19), Durham Adkins (11), Cade Garris (11), Bryce Adkins (9), Luke Garris (3), and Logan Garris (1), her brothers, Jessie Harrelson Jr., James Earl Harrelson, Terry Wayne Harrelson, her sisters Gertrude Odum, Geraline Harrelson and Leslie Jean Harrelson.
Visitation was at Cooke Funeral Home in Lake View on Saturday, September 30, 2017 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. and the funeral service was held Sunday, October 1, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Lake View with the Reverend Lynn Anderson officiating. Burial was in the Lake View Perpetual Cemetery.
