Vernie “Buck” Tyler, Jr., passed away on Friday, July, 14, 2017, at the Carolinas Hospital System in Florence.
Funeral services were held 4:00 p.m.. Monday at Cooper Funeral Home with burial in Greenlawn Cemetery. Visitation was 6:00-9:00 pm. Sunday at the funeral home.
Born in Latta, SC, March 4, 1949, he was the son of Vernie Tyler, Sr. and Elizabeth B. Blackmon Tyler. He was a self employed consruction worker.
Survivors include his wife, Nettie Faye Tyler of Dillon; daughters, Cathy (Valentin) Grimaldo of Virginia and Angie (Brian) Mercer of Conway; son, Jamie (Kelsey) Gibson of Conway; grandchildren, Jessica McRaven of Charlotte, NC, Keith Barrentine of Conway, Cory McRaven of Charlotte, NC, Blake Powell of Dillon, Elizabeth Martinez of Charlotte, NC, Cody Martinez, C.J. Watts both of Charlotte, and Gaven Caulder of Conway, Giselle Grimaldo, Gabriela Grimaldo, Valentin Grimaldo, Jr. all of Virginia, Shelbey Gibson of Conway, Logan Gibson of North Carolina, Jasmyne Gibson of Dillon; great-grandchildren, Damian Blake, Jacob Blake, Carter McRaven, Addison Barrentine, Keaton Barrentine, Baylor Barrentine, and Olivia Powell; sisters, Kathleen (Johny) Hyatt and Mary Elizabeth Goodyear all of Dillon, brothers, Wayne (Alberta) Tyler of Latta, Charles (Bestelle) Tyler, Ronnie (Faye) Tyler, Jack (Kay) Britt, and Kenneth (Gina) Tyler all of Dillon; aunt, Mildred Blackmon of Dillon, nieces, Ashley Ward, Heather McCllean, Summer Tyler, Courtney Price, Stephanie Tyler, Rhonda Tyler, Karen Britt Strong, and Heidi Matthews Neal; nephew, Jo Matthews.
He was preceded in death by his niece, Christie Hopkins.
