The sale of a cookbook is being used to support a ministry called “Feed My Sheep Guatemala.”
“Handfuls of Purpose” is the cookbook named by Lois Corbell Hatchell, founder of Feed My Sheep Guatemala, a ministry committed to supporting New Life Feed My Sheep Church in San Luis, Guatemala by meeting the needs of the people in providing spiritual growth, a feeding program, medical attention, and Christmas gifts. Since Hatchell’s death, the cookbook has been published and is now being used to financially support the ministry and carry on her legacy.
Lois Corbell Hatchell was born and reared in the Outer Banks of North Carolina. She dedicated her life to a ministry of helping others and her home was always open to anyone in need. Lois had a God-given gift for hospitality and a love for missions. God opened her heart for a vision she named Feed My Sheep Ministries Guatemala. When she learned of a project in San Luis, Guatemala, her heart was stirred for the people to have a place to worship. She began raising money by baking her famous banana bread and cinnamon rolls. When $10,000 had been raised, a team was sent with a local ministry that successfully built a church. The church is now called New Life Feed My Sheep Church after Lois’s ministry.
The vision at New Life Family Worship Center in Dillon is to provide spiritual growth as well as meals for those in need. The goal is that each individual will be equipped with tools to serve others.
The cookbook can be purchased on feedmysheepguatemala.com. Donations can also be made on the website.
