Dillon County Council Chairman Archie Scott is sharing more information which supports his view of the distribution of the Local Option Sales Tax.
Scott presented the documents shown which refer to the 1990 and 1991 referendum, but that he believes is applicable to the 1995 referendum. He says he sees no mention of the schools in these documents.
Scott also has information from The Community Leader’s letter (Community and Economic Development Program-Clemson University) which he said states that the property tax roll back “applies only to county and city taxes not school taxes”.
He also presented a statement that shows the distribution to the county and states that he does not see where this money was sent to the school.
