Dillon County First Steps (DCFS) Local Team meeting was held on Thursday, March 2, 2017, in the Dillon County First Steps’ Conference Room.
The team includes the DCFS Executive Director, 4K County Regional Coordinator, BabyNet, Early Head Start Child Care Partnership, and the South Carolina First Steps County Partnership Consultant.
Zee Loftus, Early Head Start Child Care Partnership (EHS-CCP) Family Advocate shared that the Dillon County EHS-CCP will have six openings in August 2017.
Shantel McRae, Parents as Teachers (PAT) Parent Educator expressed that the PAT program is currently recruiting families prenatal through three years of age. The PAT program is currently serving 26 families. Angela Coward, Program Director reported that 46 child care providers have attended at least one or more Child Care Training and Professional Development training provided by the DCFS Partnership Board.
Carletta S. Isreal, SC First Steps County Partnership Senior Consultant, shared that the State Office has completed the process for county partnerships’ boards, staff and the community to provide feedback on the Partnership and Program Accountability Standards in preparation for fiscal year 2018.
The changes and updates will be shared with county partnership’s board chairs, executive directors, and staff on Thursday, March 9, 2017. Also, Isreal thanked DCFS for their continued commitment to provide programs and services to children and families in Dillon County.
