On Saturday, February 18, 2017, the Grades 6-8 Lake View High School Academic Challenge Team, won top honors in the Pee Dee Regional Academic Challenge Tournament held on the campus of Francis Marion University, qualifying them for the state tournament to be held in Camden on March 16, 2017. This marks the second straight year that the Lake View team has captured the regional championship title.
