The Dillon Wildcats’ receiver, Kanore McKinnon, and the Lake View Wild Gators’ offensive lineman, Datron Jones have been selected to compete in the North-South Touchstone Energy Cooperatives Bowl on December 10 at Myrtle Beach’s Doug Shaw Memorial Stadium.
The Dillon Wildcats Coach Jackie Hayes commented “It’s a big honor for Kanore and the team.  Anytime we can get somebody in an all-star game, it speaks a lot about our program, our coaches, and our players.”
Kanore McKinnon, having missed two games this season, still made the North-South All Star game. He has caught 18 passes this season (5 games) for 379 yards and leads the team in yardage through the air by 23 yards.  He has also rushed for 25 yards and is second in all purpose yards with 490. He is second in scoring with 38 points. He has returned 6 punts for 80 yards and one kickoff for 6.
In 2013 McKinnon caught one pass for 12 yards. In 2014 he caught 2 passes for 20 yards. In 2015 he caught 36 for 667 yards and was team leader. He also scored 13 touchdowns and was the team leader. In 2016 to date he has caught 18 passes for 379 yards and 6 touchdowns. (Stats provided by Lonnie “Stats” Turner.
The same can be said of Datron. Coach Daryl King said “It’s a huge honor for Datron. He’s been a four-year starter on the offensive and defensive line. I think it’s well deserved.”
Datron Jones not only is a four-year starter but he is also a 2016 Junior Marshal and ranks number 3 in his class!
Datron has 28 tackles, 6 tackles for loss, and 1 sack this year for the Wild Gators.
